About Phil Wright
Sound Designer & Engineer
Phil Wright has enjoyed a two and a half decade career in the Pro Audio Industry, specialising as a Live Sound Designer for large scale Classical / Concert / Broadcast / Dance / Cinema a & Operatic productions.
After training at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Phil spent the early part of his career working full time at Sound By Design Ltd, during which time he handled the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in-house sound contract. From 2000-2012 Phil also managed the SBD team handling the BBC Proms live sound requirements.
In 2012 Phil went freelance to concentrate on the design & mixing side of his career, and Phil Wright Sound Limited was founded. In this new role Phil has continued to work with artistes, producers and companies of repute to produce award winning productions around the globe.
Alongside his live work, Phil has undertaken a number of high profile recording and post-production projects during his career including the Cinema & DVD releases of "Not The Messiah, He's a very Naughty Boy" and a performance of Verdi's Requiem for the Royal Opera House.
Phil works closely with a number of manufacturers, distributors & sound rental companies of repute collaborating on product development and design.. Phil also spends time teaching the next generation of audio engineers on the Theatre Technology course at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and through the Association of Sound Designers, of which he is a board member
